A strong jobs report knocked U.S. government bond prices down as investors bet that the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates later this year. Stocks finished mostly lower on Friday, ending the week with a second straight loss.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 56.12 points, or 0.3 percent, to 17,849.46.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost 3.01 points, or 0.1 percent, to 2,092.83.
The Nasdaq composite edged up 9.33 points, or 0.2 percent, to 5,068.46.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 161.22 points, or 0.9 percent.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 14.56 points, or 0.7 percent.
The Nasdaq composite fell 1.57 point, less than 0.1 percent.
