TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's official news agency is reporting that country's vice president is going to meet the U.S. energy secretary in Geneva to discuss the ongoing nuclear negotiations.
IRNA quotes Behrouz Kamalvand, the Iran's Atomic Organization's spokesman as saying the vice president and Iran's nuclear organization chief, Ali Akbar Salehi is going to meet the U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz during expert-level talks between the two countries.
Kamalvand says that Salehi will leave Tehran for Switzerland Saturday morning.
The U.S. and other nations negotiating with Tehran have long suspected Iran's nuclear program is secretly aimed at weapons capability. Tehran insists the program is entirely devoted to peaceful purposes.
