A growing wave of frustration in Los Angeles has sparked a recall petition for Democrat Mayor Karen Bass. Despite the city’s rising crime, homelessness, and a series of controversial decisions, the wildfires that have destroyed lives, homes, and businesses were the final straw for residents. Voters are demanding accountability and change. Critics argue that Bass’s leadership has only exacerbated the city’s problems, with many calling for stronger policies to restore law and order. As the petition gains momentum, it’s clear that LA residents are losing patience with what they see as failed leadership. The pressure for Bass to address the mounting concerns or face potential removal from office is mounting.

Although 2024 didn’t rate very high in most Americans’ estimation, a new poll suggests that a majority expect much better in 2025. Details on this from reporter Bernie Bennett.
VERBATIM: The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just five percent (5%) of American Adults rate 2024 one of the best years ever. Eleven percent (11%) think it was an excellent year and 20% rate 2024 a good year. However, 34% of Americans give 2024 a poor rating. The 36% who rate 2024 at least a good year is slightly up from last year, when 34% said the same about 2023.

Chaplains are on the ground in the L.A. fire zone
VERBATIM: They work for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and they are in the shelters where fire victims are living, ministering to them even as the crisis unfolds. Ministry spokesman Josh Holland says “The images coming out of California look like scenes out of a Hollywood movie—yet they show the real-life horror that the people of the Los Angeles area are experiencing today.” Other Christian ministries are also rushing help to the city.
