WASHINGTON (AP) — H&M is recalling about 65,000 pairs of leggings for girls because a metal part on the belt can detach, which could pose a choking risk to young children.
The retailer has received one report of a choking incident in the United Kingdom but no reports of injury or other incidents in the U.S.
H&M sold the pants from August 2012 to April 2014 for $3 to $15. The recall involves leggings sold in a number of colors in sizes from 1 ½ to 8 years. The leggings have a plastic belt with a bow-shaped buckle.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday that consumers should stop using the product and contact H&M about returning the belt for a $20 gift card.
