The stock market took a break from its record-breaking run on Tuesday when some weak corporate earnings reports held the market back. Both the Dow Jones and the Standard & Poor's 500 indexes moved lower.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 20.90 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 15,618.22.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 4.96 points, or 0.3 percent, to 1,762.97.
The Nasdaq composite rose 3.27 points, or 0.1 percent, to 3,939.86.
