THE MOVE: Hewlett-Packard Co. named executive Todd Bradley to a new position in charge of the company's strategy. Bradley will work with CEO Meg Whitman to improve HP's business in China and extend relationships with important partners worldwide.
LAST ROLE: Bradley was in charge of HP's PC business from 2005 to 2012, when it combined the printing and PC divisions into one unit under his leadership.
MARKETS: Emerging markets represent a potential area of growth, and PC sales have been declining. HP also faces competition from a Chinese company, Lenovo Group Ltd., which bought IBM's PC business years ago.
