Technology companies led the stock market higher on Monday, pushing the Standard & Poor's 500 index to another record high.
A pair of strong economic reports also encouraged investors. Wages and spending rose in the U.S. last month, and pending home sales hit a three-year high.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 106.20 points, or 0.7 percent, to 14,818.75.
The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 11.37 points, or 0.7 percent, to 1,593.61.
The Nasdaq composite index rose 27.76 points, or 0.9 percent, to 3,307.02.

The Dow is up 1,714.61 points, or 13.1 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 167.42 points, or 11.7 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 287.51 points, or 9.5 percent.
