Grains futures rise, livestock prices mixed

CHICAGO (AP) — Corn futures soared in early trading Wednesday and other grain prices were mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery added 10 cents to $7.57 a bushel; December corn jumped 23.5 cents to $6.475 a bushel; December oats were unchanged at $3.27 a bushel; while November soybeans gained 16.75 cents to $14.30 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle rose 0.68 cent to $1.1615 a pound; August feeder cattle fell 0.63 cent to $1.4707 a pound; while August lean hogs gained 1.8 cent to 90.8 cents a pound.
