Concerns about Europe pushed U.S. markets lower Friday but didn't erase all the gains from Monday and Thursday. The Dow Jones industrial average finished up for the week for the first time in May.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 74.92 points, or 0.6 percent, to 12,454.83.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 2.86 points, or 0.2 percent, to 1,317.82.
The Nasdaq composite index fell 1.85 points, or 0.1 percent, to 2,837.53.
For the week:
The Dow is up 85.45 points, or 0.7 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 22.60 points, or 1.7 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 58.74 points, or 2.1 percent.
For the year:
The Dow is up 237.27 points, or 1.9 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 60.22 points, or 4.8 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 232.38 points, or 8.9 percent.
