BUMPY RIDE: Air France-KLM posted a net loss of (EURO)368 million ($483 million) in the first quarter as high fuel costs and a drop in cargo volume sliced into earnings. The airline lost (EURO)367 million a year ago.
SKY-HIGH FUEL: The fuel bill for the Air France-KLM fleet rose 18 percent to (EURO)1.7 billion.
MORE PASSANGERS: One bright spot was passenger traffic, which was up 5.5 percent, while cargo traffic dropped by 6 percent. Passenger revenue rose 8.8 percent.
