N. Dame moves annual sale because of construction

The University of Notre Dame is moving its annual sale of items donated by students as they leave campus for the summer.

In past years the sale was held at Notre Dame Stadium. Because of construction at the stadium this year, the Old 2 Gold sale on June 16 will be held at the former Target/Steve & Barry's store about three miles east of campus. Doors will open at 9 a.m., but $5 admission tickets will go on sale at 7 a.m.

Among the items sole are bicycles, clothing, electronics, housewares and furniture. Proceeds from the sale benefit local organizations that volunteer to help set up and run the event. Last year, the sale raised more than $50,000.

The school began holding the annual sale in 2004.
