Financial exchange operator CBOE Holdings Inc. is hiring a former federal regulator as its chief compliance officer amid an ongoing probe into the company's compliance practices.
CBOE said Friday that Alexandra Albright will assume the newly-created post on April 23. She will oversee compliance procedures at CBOE's exchanges and will report to Chief Operating Officer and President Edward Tilly.
The 40-year-old Albright was a lawyer for the Securities and Exchange Commission from 2001 to 2006, working in the agency's enforcement group and its division of trading and markets. She later worked in private practice.
CBOE disclosed in February that the SEC is probing its oversight of the exchanges that it operates. The company is cooperating with the investigation.
CBOE runs the Chicago Board Options Exchange, among others.
