It's the worst four-day losing streak of the year for the Dow Jones industrial average and the Standard & Poor's 500. The Dow closed below 13,000 on Monday for the first time since March 12.
The Dow finished down 130.55 points at 12,929.59.
The S&P was off 15.88 points at 1,382.20.
The Nasdaq composite closed down 33.42 at 3,047.08.
For the year:
The Dow is up 712.03 points, or 5.8 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 124.60, or 9.9 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 441.90, or 16.9 percent.
