The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost less than one point. It is down 0.7 percent for the week, the biggest drop of 2012 and the worst since the week ended Dec. 16, 2011. Stock trading will be closed for the Good Friday holiday.
The Dow Jones industrial average finished down 14.61, or 0.1 percent, at 13,060.14.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index closed down 0.88, or 0.1 percent, at 1,398.08.
The Nasdaq composite index rose 12.41, or 0.4 percent, to 3,080.50.

The Dow is down 151.90 points, or 1.1 percent.
The S&P 500 is down 10.39 points, or 0.7 percent.
The Nasdaq is down 11.07 points, or 0.4 percent.
