An independent report says Southern California Edison could have shaved a day off the time it needed to restore power after last year's windstorm that left 400,000 people in the dark.
Edison on Wednesday released the conclusions of the report it commissioned from Davies Consulting.
The report gives the giant utility some high marks in handling the November 30th windstorm that knocked down thousands of power lines throughout Southern California.
But it says the seven-and-a-half days it took to get electricity flowing could have been cut by a day or even two through policy changes that include better planning and damage assessment.
SCE, a unit of Edison International, says it's been making changes to improve its storm response but some of the 70 recommendations in the report may take years to implement.
