BY THE NUMBERS: The major indexes rose slightly Monday, but their performance was underwhelming compared with last week's big gains. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 6.51 points. It climbed 310 last week.
OIL PRICES SURGE AHEAD: Oil climbed above $108 a barrel, up more than a dollar for the day and almost $3 for the last two trading days.
TREASURY YIELDS KEEP RISING: The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose as high as 2.40 percent. It hasn't closed above that level since August. With more confidence in the economy, investors are taking money out of bonds and putting it into riskier investments like stocks.
