COFFEE BLUES: Coffee prices fell on expectations that Brazilian growers will produce a bountiful harvest. The price has fallen 19.3 percent this year, although consumers aren't likely to see much of a change at the retail level because manufacturers are coping with higher processing and shipping costs.
EVALUATING DATA: Traders evaluated fresh economic reports. Industrial production rose at a slower pace in March than in February and a hefty increase in retail gasoline prices pushed up a measure of consumer costs.
PRICE MIX: Gold, silver and copper fell. Energy products, wheat, corn and soybeans rose.
