Berkshire Hathaway Inc. is eliminating the news conference Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger traditionally held as part of the festivities around the company's annual shareholder meeting.
Berkshire spokeswoman Carrie Kizer said Monday the event is being eliminated because of time constraints for the Omaha company's top two executives.
In past years, the news conference was held on Sunday of the shareholder weekend _ one day after Buffett and Munger spent nearly six hours answering questions in front of more than 30,000 people.
While the news conference took place in past years, Berkshire shareholders swarmed the company's Borsheim's jewelry store and filled two of Buffett's favorite restaurants. Buffett plans to work as a jewelry salesman that afternoon at Borsheim's again this year.
This year's meeting will be held May 5.
