Gov. Dave Heineman is leading a delegation of Nebraska business leaders on a trade mission to China.
The summer mission will include stops in Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai.
The trip will include 35 business leaders from local economic development groups, the University of Nebraska, the Department of Economic Development and private industry. It will run from July 28 through Aug. 3.
Heineman says the mission is intended to generate new markets for Nebraska-made products in China, and attract Chinese companies to the state.
The trade mission is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
China is Nebraska's fourth-largest trading partner and one of its fastest-growing markets. Combined exports have more than doubled in the past five years, with a 36 percent increase in 2011.
