Oil prices are approaching last year's highs as tensions increase over Iran's nuclear program. The rise pushed gasoline prices on Friday to a national average of $3.65 per gallon, the highest ever for this time of year. Here's how energy contracts traded.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange:
Benchmark crude rose by $1.94 to finish at $109.77 per barrel.
Gasoline rose by 3.92 cents to end at $3.1528 per gallon.
Heating oil rose by 2.1 cents to finish at $3.3159 per gallon.
Natural gas fell by 7.1 cents to end at $2.5500 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange in London:
Brent crude rose $1.85 to finish at $125.47 per barrel.
