Nebraska's net state tax receipts were 3 percent higher than expected in December, boosted by sales and income tax collections that surpassed forecasts.
The Nebraska Department of Revenue released the month's numbers on Tuesday. Net tax receipts in December were $316 million, nearly 3 percent higher than projected. Net sales and use tax receipts were more than 6 percent above expectations, while net individual income receipts were nearly 4 percent higher.
Net corporate income tax receipts were about 7 percent higher than expected.
The higher than expected figures were offset by a nearly 37 percent decline in miscellaneous tax receipts.
