Ill. officials to support veterans' employment

The director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security will sign a statement of support Friday for a federal program helping military veterans find work.

Jay Rowell will sign the statement for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, part of the U.S. Defense Department.

Employment Security officials say it emphasizes the role the agency plays in putting armed forces veterans to work when they re-enter civilian life. They say the agency itself employs nearly 60 veterans who help other vets get work.
