NH bill makes some insurance coverage optional

New Hampshire's House has voted to ease some insurance mandates to make coverage optional for midwife services and bariatric surgery.

The House voted 229-133 Wednesday to approve legislation that also requires a review for children's early intervention therapy services, diagnosis and treatment of autism and for hearing aids.

A proposal was not taken up to also repeal mandatory insurance coverage when couples separate or divorce and make services optional for deafness and hearing loss.
