Mississippi gets $1.4 million health grant

The Mississippi Department of Health has received a $1.4 million grant to assist in efforts toward HIV prevention, surveillance activities, and continued studies of AIDS.

U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., says the funds came from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for MDSH's Comprehensive HIV Prevention Project.

Thompson says the project period begins Jan. 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2016.
