Louisiana SPCA spokeswoman Katherine LeBlanc says the agency is trying to arrange transportation from Kenner to Baton Rouge for the body of a horse that died Sunday on Bourbon Street, so it can be sent to the LSU animal hospital to learn why it died.
LeBlanc says the owner kept three horses in Kenner, and says he was taking them for a walk when one of them collapsed and died Sunday. She says he had a small horse cart _ big enough for a person or two.
LeBlanc says the owner took the two live horses and the dead one back to Kenner.
James Lauga Jr., general manager of Royal Carriages, says he had filed complaints about the owner, who often drove his horses in the Quarter.
