Oil prices jumped Tuesday as tensions rose in Iran and strong retail sales put a rosier glow on the U.S. economy.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange:
Crude rose $2.37 to end at $100.14 per barrel.
Gasoline increased 6.18 cents to finish at $2.6254 per gallon.
Heating oil rose by 3.27 cents to end at $2.9288 per gallon.
Natural gas rose by 2.5 cents to finish at $3.2790 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange in London:
Brent crude rose $2 to end the day at $109.08 per barrel.
