Members of Nevada's Economic Development Commission say a state plan to create jobs should go beyond "buzz words" and map out a clear strategy for sustainability.
Meeting Thursday in Carson City, members also said involving the private sector is vital to the statewide effort.
Gov. Brian Sandoval, who chairs the commission, says he intends to hold "mini-summits" with targeted industry groups for input.
A report released last month by the Brookings Institution outlined Nevada's strengths and weaknesses for job creation. Jobs are a top priority for Sandoval's administration in a state that leads the nation in unemployment, bankruptcies and foreclosures.
Economic Development Director Steve Hill says a state plan incorporating findings in the Brookings report will be released early next year.
