Hundreds of people involved in New York's construction industry are gathering at an upstate hotel to participate in training sessions and meet with state officials.
The Associated General Contractors of New York State is holding its 25th annual statewide construction industry conference in Saratoga Springs. The organization expects about 1,000 people to attend the three-day conference, which began Tuesday and wraps up Thursday.
On Wednesday, a pair of state agency commissioners will address the conference. Joan McDonald of the Department of Transportation and Joe Martens of the Department of Environmental Conservation are both scheduled to speak.
The Associated General Contractors represents New York companies involved in non-residential construction such as highway projects and hospital expansions.
