Summary Box: Metals end higher on European plan

METALS UP: Metal prices ended the week sharply higher. Copper is up 15.2 percent for week; platinum 9 percent and palladium 7 percent.

EUROPEAN PLAN: Metals are up hopes that a new financial bailout plan in Europe will lead to an increase in global economic growth, which would lead to increased demand at the world's factories for raw materials.

OIL DOWN: Benchmark oil lost 64 cents to end at $93.32 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
