CROPS FALL: December wheat dropped 34 cents Wednesday, or 5 percent, to finish at $6.2675 per bushel. December corn fell 4.25 cents, or less than 1 percent, to end at $6.4075 per bushel.
BIGGER SURPLUS: In its monthly report on global crop supplies, the USDA estimated that next year's corn surplus will be 29 percent bigger than previously estimated, the wheat surplus 10 percent bigger.
SOYBEANS GAIN: Soybeans rose after the USDA decreased its 2012 surplus estimate by 5 million bushels to 160 million bushels. November soybeans rose 4 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $12.3950 per bushel.
