Oil rises on expected drop in supplies

Oil prices rose on the anticipation that a recent tropical storm caused a major disruption in supplies. Here's a breakdown of how energy prices traded Wednesday:

On the New York Mercantile Exchange:

Crude: added $2.02 to end at $90.21 per barrel;

Gasoline: added less than a penny to finish at $2.7424 per gallon;

Heating oil: fell 1.14 cents to end at $2.9361 per gallon;

Natural gas: rose 9.5 cents to finish at $3.98 per 1,000 cubic feet.

On the ICE futures exchange:

Brent crude: slipped 42 cents to finish at $109.77 per barrel.
