There are dozens of insurance companies that provide homeowners coverage in the East Coast states that were hit by Hurricane Irene over the weekend, but a handful dominate the industry. In particular, State Farm has the highest number of policyholders in North and South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Virginia, according to the Insurance Information Institute, a trade group.
