CSX said Tuesday its second-quarter earnings rose 22 percent as the railroad compensated for slow volume growth with higher prices. Here's a look at what it hauled, and how shipping volume improved from a year earlier:

_ Phosphates and fertilizers, flat.
_ Food and consumer products, up 8 percent.
_ Chemicals, up 3 percent.
_ Automotive, down 1 percent.
_ Metals, up 5 percent.
_ Emerging markets, up 4 percent.
_ Forest products, up 8 percent.
_ Merchandise, up 3 percent.
_ Coal, down 3 percent.
_ Intermodal, up 8 percent.
