Summary Box: GM pickup factory to get $328M update

INVESTMENT: General Motors will spend $328 million to update a factory in Flint, Mich., where it will build the next generation of Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, due in showrooms in 2013.

MORE JOBS: The Flint Assembly Plant will add about 150 new jobs. It will also bring in 750 laid-off auto workers for an additional shift.

PICKUP SALES: GM's U.S. sales rose about 13 percent through June compared with a year earlier, about the same increase as the overall U.S. market.
