The Detroit Media Partnership has named a new top executive to lead the organization that oversees the business operations of the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News.
Gannett Co. Inc. announced Tuesday that Joyce Jenereaux (JEN'-er-oh) was named president of the partnership. The former executive vice president replaces Susie Ellwood, who has been named executive vice president and general manager of USA Today.
Jenereaux joined the partnership in 1990.
In Ellwood's new role, she reports to USA Today President and Publisher David Hunke, who had been the Free Press' publisher and top executive of the Detroit Media Partnership. He left in 2009.
Gannett, based in McLean, Va., owns USA Today and the Free Press.
