Summary Box: Corn falls on drop in export sales

CORN WOES: Corn fell on concerns about global demand after the government said export sales dropped 35 percent last week. Corn also was hurt as spring planting progressed in improving weather conditions.

DOLLAR WEAKENS: Other commodities were mostly higher as the dollar grew weaker after a government report reinforced worries about a slowing economy. Commodities are priced in dollars, and a weaker dollar makes them more appealing to buyers using other currencies.

JAVA JUMPS: Colder-than-normal weather in Brazil sent coffee futures up 3.7 percent on concerns about potential supply problems.
