Oil climbed above $99 per barrel on Friday in volatile trading as the dollar weakened and another industry report showed that drivers are buying less gasoline.
Here's how energy contracts traded.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange:
Crude rose $1.05 to settle at $99.49 per barrel;
Heating oil added 2.36 cents to settle at $2.9183 per gallon;
Gasoline gained less than a penny to settle at $2.9358 per gallon;
Natural gas added 12.9 cents to settle at $4.290 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange:
Brent crude rose 97 cents to settle at $112.39 per barrel.
