Arch Coal Inc., down 77 cents at $33.53

The miner will buy rival International Coal for $3.4 billion, forming the country's No. 2 supplier of coal used to make steel.

Tenet Healthcare Corp., down 24 cents at $6.69

Community Health Systems raised its bid for the hospital operator to $3.5 billion, saying the "final offer" will expire May 9.

International Paper Co., up $1.26 at $32.14

A Barron's article said the rebound in demand for the manufacturer's paper and packaging isn't reflected in its stock price.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., up $1.54 at $47.27

The world's largest generic drug developer is buying biopharmaceutical company Cephalon Inc. for $6.8 billion.

TiVo Inc., down 29 cents at $9.86

Dish Network Corp. and EchoStar Corp. will pay the digital video recorder maker $500 million to settle a patent lawsuit.

Whole Foods Market Inc., down $3.12 at $59.64

A Jefferies analyst cut the natural foods grocery chain to "Hold" from "Buy" because he thinks sales growth has slowed.

YRC Worldwide Inc., down 47 cents at $1.51

A restructuring plan will leave the trucking company's existing stockholders with just 2.5 percent of outstanding shares.

Volcom Inc., up $4.67 at $24.40

France's PPR, owner of luxury label Gucci and sneaker company Puma, is buying the sportswear maker for $607.5 million.
