Verizon, Chipotle, Apple are big movers

SLM Corp. (SLM), up $1.85 at $16.31

The student loan company said it would pay a 10-cent quarterly dividend, its first since 2007, amid growth in its loan portfolio.

Unitedhealth Group Inc., up $3.57 at $47.81

The health insurer's profit grew as it reversed last year's enrollment losses and benefited from slower increases in health care use.

Verizon Communications Inc., down 88 cents at $36.91

Sales of Apple Inc.'s iPhones are helping Verizon lure new high-paying subscribers, but Wall Street analysts had expected even more.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., down $10.80 at $277.30

Despite stronger sales, the restaurant chain said its operating margin dropped 90 basis points from the prior-year quarter.

Boston Scientific Corp., up 8 cents at $7.16

The medical device maker said it posted a small first-quarter profit against a year-earlier loss.

The technology company said U.S. and overseas sales of iPhones surged in its most recent quarter, helping profit nearly double.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., down $4.16 at $45.01

Rival Biogen Idec Inc. reported positive late-stage trial data for its multiple sclerosis drug candidate.

TradeStation Group Inc., up $2.28 at $9.69

Japan's Monex Group is buying the online brokerage for $9.75 per share, a 32 percent premium to its most recent closing price.
