FACTORY POWER: Factories produced more goods for the ninth straight month in March, lifting overall industrial production to its biggest increase since December.
CONSUMER GOODS REBOUND: Production of consumer goods rose 0.9 percent after flat lining for two months. That suggest the economic rebound is spreading to consumers, after relying heavily on businesses spending earlier in the recovery.
JAPAN LOOMS: Output of automotive products for consumers increased 3.6 percent, but that strength might not last. Some U.S. auto factories have slowed production in recent weeks. The earthquake and tsunami in Japan limited their access to parts produced in that country.
