Monsanto, La-Z-Boy, Dish Network are big movers

Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:


Monsanto Co., down $4.16 at $69.16

Rising corn seed sales lifted the seed company's quarterly profit, but it did not increase its earnings forecast for the year.

La-Z-Boy Inc., up $1.08 at $10.92

A KeyBanc analyst upgraded the furniture maker's investment rating to "Buy" from "Hold," saying sales trends are improving.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co., up $2.02 at $67.59

Some analysts raised their price targets for the teen retailer, citing its strong 2012 earnings outlook and international prospects.

Clean Harbors Inc., up $5.85 at $105.72

The waste treatment company is buying Canada's Peak Energy Services Ltd. in a deal valued at about $200 million including debt.


Broadcom Corp., up $1.50 at $39.95

An Oppenheimer analyst upgraded the chip maker saying that a recent share price decline represents a good opportunity to buy.

Dish Network Corp., up 1 cent at $24.32

The satellite TV company won the auction for bankrupt video rental chain Blockbuster Inc. with a bid valued at $228 milllion.

Micromet Inc., up 54 cents at $5.82

An RBC Capital Markets analyst upgraded the stock, citing the potential for positive results from a developing leukemia drug in the year ahead.

American Superconductor Corp., down $10.41 at $14.47

The company, which makes technology for wind turbines and power utilities, warned of sliding revenue and a loss in the fourth quarter.
