AutoNation Inc. CEO Mike Jackson received a pay package valued at nearly $6.8 million in fiscal 2010, up 31 percent from fiscal 2009.
That's according to an Associated Press analysis of data filed by the car dealership chain filed with regulators Wednesday.
Jackson's salary remained the same at $1.15 million, and he received a $2.86 million performance-based bonus, some of which will be paid in 2013. The value of his stock options and stock awards rose about 23 percent to nearly $2.6 million.
The AP calculation aims to isolate the value that company boards place on CEOs' total compensation packages. It includes salary, bonus, incentives, perks and the estimated value of stock options and awards.
