Japanese stocks open down; Nikkei off 3.6 percent

Japanese shares have fallen again, erasing a portion of the gains from a one-day post-quake rally.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 shed 3.6 percent to 8,765.00 points early Thursday. That erased a portion of gains from Wednesday's rally, which followed a sharp plunge in prices.

Japan's devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis triggered widespread selling, wiping out all of the stock market's gains this year.
