Oil settled higher; Japan may boost fuel imports

Energy prices were mixed Monday as economists tried to gauge how much the Japanese disaster would affect its energy demand.

Here's a breakdown of how energy contracts traded Monday:

On the New York Mercantile Exchange:

Crude: added 3 cents to settle at $101.19 per barrel;

Gasoline: fell 2.74 cents to settle at $2.9603 per gallon;

Heating oil: rose 3.48 cents to settle at $3.0638 per gallon;

Natural gas: gained 2.5 cents to settle at $3.914 per 1,000 cubic feet.

On the ICE Futures exchange:

Brent crude: fell 17 cents to settle at $113.67 per barrel.
