Summary Box: Cattle prices climb on export demand

BEEFY PRICES: Cattle futures rose on expectations that export demand will grow stronger this year even as supplies of cattle in feedlots decline. The price of live cattle has risen 10 percent this year after increasing nearly 27 percent in 2010.

OIL WATCH: Oil prices fell after the government said crude inventories grew last week. But most of the focus was on the unrest in the oil-rich regions of the Middle East and North Africa.

GRAINS FALL: Wheat, corn and soybeans settled lower ahead of Thursday's government reports on crop production and estimates of global supply and demand.
