Arch Coal Inc., up $1.37 at $25.96

The coal producer sold more coal in the third quarter and lower operating costs made its business more profitable.

Wilmington Trust Corp., down $2.90 at $4.21

M&T Bank Corp. is paying about $351 million for the troubled bank, which has been increasing its reserve against future loan losses.

EXCO Resources Inc., up $4.47 at $19.30

The oil and gas producer's chairman and CEO is attempting to buy the Dallas company outright for $4.36 billion.

Baker Hughes Inc., up $1.95 at $48.37

The energy company's "unconventional" drilling into shale and oil sands helped quarterly profit more than quadruple.

Ambac Financial Group Inc., down 42 cents at 41 cents

The bond insurer said it's not going to pay dividends that were due Monday and it's talking with senior debt holders to restructure its debt.

JinkoSolar Holding Co., up $4.99 at $35.14

Total solar shipments hit a record 134.8 megawatts, easily outshining the company's previous guidance of 100 to 120 megawatts.


YRC Worldwide Inc., up 27 cents at $4.68

Union members agreed to extend a labor deal, which the trucking company expects will save it $350 million annually, through March 2015.

Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc., up $2.38 at $4.80

The FDA approved its drug to treat involuntary emotional outbursts associated with brain disease or injury, and said it can be sold without a black box warning.
