CarMax says it has promoted Tom Reedy to chief financial officer of the used car dealership chain.
The Richmond-based company said Friday that Reedy will replace Keith Browning as head of CarMax's finance organization.
Browning will remain with the company as executive vice president of finance and continue to manage CarMax Auto Finance, consumer finance and investor relations.
Forty-six-year-old Reedy previously served as senior vice president of finance. He joined CarMax in 2003 after serving in financial roles at Gateway and American Airlines. Reedy holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the UCLA and an MBA from the University of Virginia.
CarMax operates more than 100 stores in 26 states.
