Airline stocks helped lead a market rebound on Wednesday that nearly erased Tuesday's big-sell off brought on by concerns over a slowdown in China. Stocks rose as traders saw overnight gains in China as an encouraging sign that the country's surprise interest rate hike will not dampen the global economy.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 129.35, or 1.2 percent, to 11,107.97.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 12.27, or 1.1 percent, to 1,178.17.
The Nasdaq composite index rose 20.44, or 0.8 percent, to 2,457.39.

The Dow is up 45.19, or 0.4 percent.
The S&P is up 1.98, or 0.2 percent.
The Nasdaq is down 11.38, or 0.5 percent.

The Dow is up 679.92, or 6.5 percent.
