Recall news

The following recalls have been announced:

_ The Consumer Product Safety Commission and JAKKS Pacific Inc. of Malibu, Calif., have issued a second recall notice for Spa Factory Spa Fantasy Aromatherapy Fountain & Bath Benefits kits. About 516,000 kits were originally recalled in January 2009, because buildup of pressure inside jars of bath bombs, balls or fizzies could cause the caps to blow off the tops of the jars. Also, the mixtures may contain citric acid, which can cause eye irritation if the cap explodes in a user's face.

The initial recall included 88 reports of exploding jars, including 13 injuries. Since that recall, the CPSC has received additional reports of exploding caps and injuries, so they are announcing the recall a second time. The kits were sold by Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Target and toy stores nationwide from August 2008 through January 2009. Details: by phone at 877-875-2557; online at http://www.cpsc.gov.
