The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:


Tenet Healthcare Corp., up 20 cents at $5.52

An analyst predicted the hospital operator's results will improve in 2010, and the expected health care overhaul should boost shares.

New York Times Co., up $1.07 at $12.10

An industry analyst raised hopes that a brutal advertising slump is tapering off more quickly than expected.

Micron Technology Inc., up 58 cents at $9.99

Shares rose to their highest point since Nov. 2007 after the memory chip maker posted its first quarterly profit in about three years.

American Greetings Corp., down 3 cents at $23.81

The greeting card company said it returned to a quarterly profit a day after announcing job cuts and a plant closing.


Compugen Ltd., up $1.75 at $4.59

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. signed a collaboration deal with the Israeli drug developer involving three peptide product candidates.

Cintas Corp., down $3.33 at $26.35

The corporate uniform maker said analysts' expectations for its fiscal 2010 year were "too optimistic" amid high unemployment.

Finish Line Inc., up 89 cents at $10.89

A tax gain helped the seller of athletic apparel post a quarterly profit, and results beat analysts' expectations.

Pinnacle Financial Partners Inc., up 64 cents at $14.30

An analyst upgraded the regional bank, citing a strong management team and balance sheet.
